Textures in Glass
Glasswork by Jill Tanenbaum
May 9, 2017 – June 3, 2017
Opening Reception: Friday, May 12 6-9PM
Meet The Artist: Saturday, May 20 1-3PM
Jill Tanenbaum has been working with fused glass for fifteen years. She is always exploring new techniques and designing pieces that combine a variety of methods and styles.
In this show, Jill has focused on creating texture with glass. Using glass powders and reactive and iridescent glass and paint, and incorporating copper elements, she has created pieces that have a depth and interest that remind one of paintings or fabrics.
Most of the pieces are very tactile and, in some cases, two-sided. There are multiple steps and kiln firings required to produce each piece.
