What's New Winter 2010

Call to Artists: The membership and exhibitions committees will be holding a joint jurying on Monday, March 8, 2010 at our gallery. You may apply to be considered to become a member, hold an exhibition at the gallery, or both. If you haven’t visited our gallery, check us out. Laura Peery is showing her work at the Baltimore Visitor’s Center in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. The eight person display is a promotion for the American Craft Council Show at Baltimore’s Convention Center and features Maryland artists. The exhibit runs now through March 1st. Laura will be at the Craft Show, booth #3400, the last week of February.

Kanika Sircar's first place winner at Sandy Spring Museum Kanika Sircar won first place Sandy Spring Museum show, juried by Marie Cavallaro. The show is open until March 28th at 17901 Bentley Road, Sandy Spring, MD, 20860.

Richard Lasner participated in the Florence (Italy) International Contemporary Art Exhibition, December 5-13, 2009. He won a fourth place prize for his Italian images. Eight international judges reviewed 2,500 works in making their decisions in six media categories. Approximately 700 artists from 70 countries, including John Sonnier of the Waverly Street Gallery and 68 other American artists, were selected to be in the Biennale.

Ruth Bird is exhibiting in the Members' Show at the Arts Club of Washington - December 4th - January 3rd.

Jean Hirons has been accepted as a signature member of the Pastel Painters’ Society of Cape Cod. Jean will be teaching a class in all levels of pastel painting in Bethesda on Fridays, Feb. 5-Mar. 12. For more information, contact Jean at jeanhirons@comcast.net.

Grace Peterson was awarded an Honorable Mention for her painting titled Neglected Fields at the Yellow Barn’s Juried Members Show. The show will be open through December 20 at the Yellow Barn Studio and Gallery at Glen Echo Park.
