Tom Kenyon takes inspiration from postage stamps, toys, nature, cars, newspaper ads and the comics. Currently he is producing prints using linoleum blocks. He likes the strong dense color or black that he can get with block prints. He is interested in a regulated size format. Within the strict confines of a grid, he likes to experiment with scale, abstraction, representation and narrative, whatever suits his fancy. He set up some rules for a series and then try to exhaust all the possibilities. Initially, the series will be a group of individual images. He often combines images to make non-linear stories or poems. Occasionally he prints a small edition, but he mostly perceives the works as mono-prints.
