Past – Floral Portraiture: A Photographic Study of Form and Texture
BY CAROL LEADBETTER
October 7 – November 8, 2014
Gallery Hours: Tuesday – Saturday, 12 – 6PM
Reception: Friday, October 10, 6-9PM
Flowers possess a unique synthesis of form and texture that conveys emotional energy, life force, and transcendental spirit. For this exhibit, Carol Leadbetter has chosen to portray the “great in the small,” drawing the viewer into a more intimate dialogue with her botanic images.
The artist uses an Eastern presentation to reproduce floral elements. All images have been printed by the artist on Unyru “Cloud Dragon” fine art paper. Each sheet is made with Kozo fibers which are left long and visible on the semi-transparent paper.
Carol Leadbetter is an award winning professional photographer with over 25 years experience. She is a member of the Waverly Street Gallery and has exhibited her work at The Art League of Alexandria and other galleries in the mid Atlantic region.
