ARTful Afternoons @ Waverly
Poetry & Art: Three Poets & Three Visual Artists
Sunday, March 26th, 2pm – 4pm

How do the visual and the verbal interact with and influence each other? Three poets, Karren Alenier, Saundra Rose Maley and Davi Walders, will each read and discuss one of their poems focusing on visual art. Three visual artists from Waverly Street Gallery, Cathy Abramson, Pat Silbert and Kanika Sircar, will describe how and why they use poetry in their work.

Audience members are invited to share their questions and thoughts on the topic. They will be introduced to the structure of a haiku and invited to write one. Our partner for this event, Capital Teas at 4806 Bethesda Avenue, will offer an urn of their beverage so that audience and participants may sip as they reflect.
