Primarily a landscape painter, Barbara French Pace uses subtle colors and smooth transitions to create atmospheres that invite reflection. Recent paintings capture arresting moments in nature and rural life.

Other works explore the dramatic geometric patterns and textures created by light and shadow.
Pace has studied art locally and in Italy. She draws inspiration from extensive travels, including workshops overseas with artist colleagues. A multifaceted artist, she also interprets the world through figurative work and photography. Her art has appeared in numerous exhibits in the mid-Atlantic region and in a variety of media, including The Washington Post and on PBS.
